Tickets for Keukenhof

We are planning to visit Keukenof on Sunday, April 26. We are going to take the train from Amsterdam to Leiden and then take the first bus to the garden a bit before 9 am (to avoid as much of the crowd as possible). I believe I read that one can purchase a ticket for both the bus and the garden at the train station in Leiden. Is this correct? If not, I will buy our tickets for the garden online today and print them now. I do not want to buy the garden tickets in advance if, for some reason, only bus/garden combo tickets will be available in Leiden. Thanks

I'm not sure about buying in Leiden, but we bought a combination bus/entrance ticket at the tourist information office (VVV) outside Centraal station. I believe it was 19 euros. There is also a smaller VVV in Leidseplein which is where you catch the first bus. The first bus goes to the airport, then you catch another bus to Keukenhof, it drops you right at the entrance. I believe travel was a little less than an hour. This was the recommended way to get there by our B&B hosts in Amsterdam.

According to Rick, you can take the train to Leiden and then catch Bus #54, the Keukenhof Express to the gardens. Total time from Amsterdam is 75 min. Also, www.keukenhof.com gives more information about getting there and the combination tickets.
