Three young children in Europe

My husband will be working at a European hospital next summer. Through his school, we are able to pick whatever town we want to visit. I will have a 5, 3, and 3 year old with me for 6 weeks. Can anyway recommend a quaint Europeon family friendly town with parks and resturants and easy to get around place to go? We are thinking Switzerland or Austria.Or maybe even Great Britian...english speaking may be a plus???
Thank you!

Hi Ginny--I love Ieper, Belgium. Quaint, reconstructed medieval town; it's small, very walk-able, English-speaking (Flemish, of course, is the primary language, but tourism from Great Britain is part of their economy so nearly everyone speaks English) family-friendly with lovely parks and walking/biking trails, good restaurants, a morning market. People are kind; when you walk through town, cars stop at intersections to let pedestrians cross--no one seems in a hurry. In churches you'll notice kids' Sunday school projects; in many European churches only old women attend, but Ieper is a family town. A field trip to Ieper is required in the British schools' curriculum, so they get lots of daytime visitors, but it's a quiet town in the evening and on weekends. It's well located for visiting Western Europe: half an hour to Brugge, Paris 2 hrs, Brussels 1 hr, Amsterdam 3 hrs; school kids from London come via the chunnel and visit as a day trip. It's a good place for kids.
