three month study trip in Germany

Can you help me with my packing list? I will be in Germany from June 27th until Sept. 21st. Keep in mind I will be going to university, so some dressy clothes will be necessary. This list is a lot like the ones I've used for one-month trips in the past... Please, let me know if you think I should take with me any other items, or leave any of these at home. 2 jean pants 2 capri pants 1 gym pants 1 long skirt 4 pairs of underwear 4 pairs of regular fast-drying socks 2 pairs of stockings 4 normal t-shirts 4 dressy t-shirts 2 sweaters 1 light jacket 1 wrap / shawl 1 pair of comfortable trekking shoes 1 pair of urban walking shoes 1 pair of sandals or flip flops 2 pairs of dressy shoes hat or cap belt 1 sleeping gown 2 vests 1 hoodie
1 swimming suit The rest of the list (other stuff than clothes) I will publish in a later message, but keep in mind that the only difference to a one-month trip list, is the amount of each item I will be taking.

You don't say where you are going in Germany and that makes a little bit of difference. Big city like Berlin or a small university town like Marburg? It can get quite warm here in the summer if it wants to. So, you might want a pair of shorts. Rather than t-shirts, have you thought about light cotton blouses? Both short sleeve and long sleeve? You have 5 pairs of shoes on your list, so you might want to reduce this to just 1 pair of dressy, and then combine your trekking/walking shoes. These can be heavy, so wear this pair on the plane. You have a hoodie and a jacket and 2 sweaters, so maybe you could reduce this 4 items down to just 1 casual and 1 dressier option. Remember, you can also buy clothing here and if you are on a budget, there are lots of 2nd hand stores where you can shop and save money. Especially on things like jackets, etc. When it is time to leave, if you have too much, then you can donate the items you don't want to the charity stores.

I suggest a rain coat. If the light jacket is water repellant/resistant then you're good. But there may be some rainy days that you find yourself walking to/from classes and will need a rain jacket (with a hood, then you won't necessarily need an umbrella).

Everybody, thanks for the quick reply!!!
Jo > I will be in Heidelberg, and although I am in budget, I was planning to buy some clothig there. The sweaters are for layering wit the hoodie or the jacket, which is waterproof, but I see your point, I could take only one sweater. BTW, the list includes the clothes I will be wearing to the plane... and keep in mind it's winter here, I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, it will be around -3 C. Which sucks, yes. Haha! And you are correct about the shoes, I will take only one dressier pair, and wear the trekking shoes on the plane. Kathy, the jacket IS waterproof, but has no hood. I should take a hat or umbrella, then, right? Any other suggestions? Thanks again!!!
