Anyone have experiences to share regarding Seine River Cruises in Paris ? Thinking about taking one when we are there in April this year, but wondered if you think it is worthwile ?
Also, would you recommend one in the daytime / evening / nighttime ?
We were there last March and took an 8:30pm Seine cruise. It was cold but totally worth it! We even sat outside on the upper deck for a better view. As I recall it was a half hour cruise and cost 11 euros each. The view of the buildings and monuments at night was spectacular so my vote is for an night cruise.
My wife and I took the night cruise in June a few years ago; definitely worth it.
Well worth it. Skip the grub ones.
Evening cruise is a highlight. Wait until it is dark. Omit those with dinner. This is a good one and the site includes a discount coupon which you can print out: www.vedettesdupontneuf.com. Enjoy.
Yes, always worth it, day or night. Just don't book a dinner cruise.
I did one my first day in Paris when I was pretty jet lagged and still enjoyed it. I did an afternoon tour after walking around a fair bit as was ready to sit a while. Pam
Another option is the canal boat cruise that leaves from in front of the Orsay Museum. It runs up the river covering the same sights as the Bateaux Mouches, but then turns into the Canal St. Martin and, after cruising underground for a distance comes out into a peaceful cruise through Paris neighborhoods.
We took the champagne cruise our 1st trip. http://www.viator.com/tours/Paris/Champagne-Tasting-Cruise-in-Paris/ I would definitely recommend it. Have fun.
Great !! Thanks for your opinions, do you know if you are allowed to bring your own drinks (champagne) aboard the boat ?
