I have heard that the stables at Chantilly are closed for renovation until 2013 or later. Is this true? There is still the Conde Musee, Chantilly creme and lace and the gardens/park.
Yes, the stables are closed for renovation until 2013. Just heard back confirmation from a very reliable source who is on the Board of the American Friends of Chantilly. But, still visit Chantilly. I've only seen the video/photos, but it looks incredible and my friends love it. We'll see it on our next trip to France.
Thank you, Margaret. I wonder if there are still horses on the grounds or any kind of horse show, etc. I agree it still seems like a lovely place to visit.
Not like being there but you can see both the Château de Chantilly and the Great Stables in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill (1985), where the location is portrayed as the estate of evil Max Zorin. It's being shown today on cable.
