I will be flying from Dubai, UAE, so I have several options, not sure which one would be the best. It seems like flying into Salzburg (via Austrain Air) and then connecting from Salzburg to KITZBUEHEL via euro rail.
Any alternate recommendations? Thanks.
If you can get a flight into Innsbruck, that would be the fastest connection. There are direct (no train change) connections from Innsbruck to Kitzbühel in about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, I suspect flying into Innsbruck would require connecting somewhere nearby.
After that, Innsbruck has direct train conections (about 2½ hrs). Both Salzburg-Kitzbühel and Innsbruck-Kitzbühel connections are on Austrian Rail. There is no such thing as Euro Rail, and Eurail only sells rail passes. Eurail does not run trains. The national rail companies, German Rail (DB) and Austrian Rail (OEBB), run the trains in their own countries.
Munich to Kitzbühel would take the longest (~2¾ hrs) and require at least one change of trains in Wörgl.
You can find all of these schedules on the German Rail website.
