We are leaving The Hague on april 7th and traveling to Paris by rental car. Our itinerary is 4/7 Brugges 4/8 Honfleur 4/9 Mt. St Michael 4/10 Chambord
4/11 Paris Shall we just stay on the main highways and pay the tolls or try to get off onto the smaller roads. Our longest day is Brugges to Honfleur. Part of the intent of driving was flexibility and sightseeing in the countryside as well as the towns and cities.
This is a series of one night stands. Given your itinerary and, I would presume, choosing the destinations because you want to see things there, I would take the highways. They cover the same areas, missing a lot of small towns. But, you have chosen places you want to see. You will subtract time to see the highlights by taking extra driving time and dawdling in other towns.
Thanks, I appreciate that comment. We are doing a whirlwind trip anchored on each end with long stays, but I didn't want to miss seeing parts of Europe I had never seen.
Megan,I don't know how experienced you are on forums, or if that last name is real, but if it is real, take it off your signature. This is a public forum, you should never use your last name ,remember anyone who lives near you can easily look up that last name, see your address and easily when your trip is and that your house will be empty.!!!
If not sure how to do this either ask online here( there are posters alot better at this stuff then me, I suck , lol ) or contact webmaster and ask.
Just saw your reply, and thanks for the input. As my friends call me Dr doolittle, my house ALWAYS has someone staying fulltime, so it is never empty. There are way too many various critters needing care!
