The Christmas Shop - Salzburg

Does anyone know if they have an online store? We visited last year could not carry home as much as we would have like because only had backpacks. I know this is a little random...any help is appreciated!

There are lots of online stores that carry typical German handi-crafts, from nutcrackers, to smokers, to pyramids or cuckcoo clocks. If you can't buy them here in Germany, you can order them in the US. Hand carved wooden items are always going to be more expensive than cheap, mass produced items from Asia. The skill and talent that is apparent in quality items is apparent, and the artists should receive a payment that reflects that. Always check with the store to see if they are dealing with items that are made in Germany. Most stores, if they are reputable, will tell the truth. German law states that the labels also have to be honest about this. http://www.erzgebirgepalace.com/Nutcrackers:::50.html http://www.thechristmashausonline.com/pyramids.html http://www.handcraftedgermangifts.com/pyramids.html http://www.nussknackerhaus.com/ http://www.blackforestgifts.com/german_pyramids.html

Congratulations, Angela, you have good taste. It is a marvelous store, much better than Kathe whatshernames'. And, it is a year round store; not part of the Christmas market. You must mean the one with the "cave" downstairs. Unfortunately, I could not find a website on Google. I know it's a long way off, but we will be in Salzburg in December. If you want to send me a private message in late Dec, early Jan, I will try to remember to pick up a business card and find out if they have a website.

Angela, I'm going to Salzburg next week. Where is the shop? I'll check for you if you have the info about address or is it in Rick's book and I missed it? Paula

I have a list of items purchased when I was in that store on a Christmas Market Tour but my receipt is missing (so no exact address). The store was highly recommended to me and I am sure it is the store we made a beeline to right after we crossed over the pedestrian bridge towards Old Town. If I remember correctly, we crossed the bridge, and entered the street almost directly in front of us, walked down to the first street and turned left, walked about 2-3 streets down and turned to our right.
Amazing I can remember that......as I, usually, have no idea what happened yesterday!.....wait a minute - is this today?

Paula, as with Angela, I could not find an address. However, the main part of Old Town Salzburg is quite small and I am certain that you will walk right by the store. The window with the Father Christmas painting cannot be missed.

Wendy - that is great information, though I am sad to read that at least as of 2010 the store has no website. I should have taken advantage of the offer to ship back to the US while I was there! Guess that means I'll have to make a return trip. :) Thank you everyone for your information and kindness!

Angela, I believe the name of the shop you are looking for is: Christmas in Salzburg Judengasse 11 5020 Salzburg
+43 662 846784 It doesn't look like they have a website/email address. Guess you'll just have to go back!

What exactly are you looking for that none of the other stores has? Have you not found anything on any of the online stores either? I kind of doubt that have just one of a kind items and if they did, what ever you wanted is now sold to someone else. They most likely get their products from the same artisans and craftspeople as all of the other "Christmas" type places.

Jo, as a former retail store owner, I can assure you that some stores just have things most others do not. Also, having an interest in Christmas items, I can assure that this store is indeed special, especially among those in the Germany-Austria area. Their level of taste is simply above that of their competitors.
