We need to return from Paris to Amsterdam for a flight back to Canada at 3:30 pm. Trains leave at 0730 from Paris Nord getting in about 11:45. I haven't done this route before; am I leaving too little time, in case of unexpected delays with the train or.....? The flight is non-stop direct and we will have already spent time in Amsterdam. Thank you
Thalys trains are very punctual, IMO it's a reasonable risk to take. But even if there is a small delay, you should be able to make your flight.
The Schiphol train station is really right in the middle of the airport so you don't loose much time from train to check-in. Even with a delay of your train you'll be just fine.
Short of a major train disaster you'll be checking in at Schiphol 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival of the Thalys beneath the airport. If anything, you may have to visit the casino or all the so-called duty free shops to kill time.
When the train slows down upon entering the NL it's a track issue and built into the schedule; unless they've upgraded since last year on the NL tracks.
