My husband and I will be arriving on a non-stop flight from Miami to CDG in May, and want to book onward train from CDG to Brussels. No problems navigating the site, but the big question looms - how much time to allow between flight arrival and train departure. Our flight arrives at 8:25 am and trains leave at :08 and :38 after each hour. We are debating between 10:38 and 11:08, favoring hanging around a bit and being assured of our train vs. being anxious about missing it. Please share your thoughts and/or experiences if you would. I appreciate all input.
Thalys trains do not stop at CDG. If you want to take a Thalys train, you will have to go into Paris and depart from Gare du Nord. The departure times you list are for TGVs that go directly from CDG to Brussels. The TGV that leaves CDG at 10:37 would work for you, especially if you book your ticket online and print it yourself so you don't have to stand in line at the station at CDG. Lines can be long. However, if you book a discount fare ticket, then go with the 11:07 train. Discount fare tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If you book full fare tickets for the 10:37 train and miss it, you can exchange them for tickets on the 11:07 train.
If you are flying Air France and have not already bought your tickets, buy a ticket right to Brussels. This is actually a flight to CDG, then a train to Brussels (your train has a "flight number"). This often doesn't cost any more than flying to CDG, and if you miss your train connection, you would be put on the next one with no extra charge, since it's all on one ticket.
