I'm getting very close to my 90 day out opportunity to buy my tickets drom Dijon to Paris (june 10) I was reading the RS website and I am trying to follow the advice below. I must be doing something wrong, because I lose the english version. Can someone help me? •France: www.tgv.com On sale 90 days ahead. Say you live in an "obscure" European country like Slovakia, so the site will stay in English. If you USA or another world region from the site intro, you'll be re-directed to Rail Europe.
Debra, Although the URLs both have "TGV" in them, tgv.com and tgv-europe.com are not the same. As Larry said, the site you want is tgv-europe.com. If you want to pick up your ticket at a station, you'll need to go to a ticket window so the agent can swipe your card. Ticket machines in French stations only accept cards with embedded chips.
Debra, first go to www.tgv-europe.com. Dependng on which window comes up, either select Great Britain as your country of residence or Great Britain as the ticket collection country. This will keep the site in English. There should be some nice PREM discounts available if you book as soon as they become available. I can see them for May but not for June. We'll be making the same journey in early October. As you proceed through the purchase process, they usually have the choice of you printing out an e-ticket on your machine or picking up the ticket via the ticket machine at a French train station. For the train station option, you must use the same credit card that you used to purchase the ticket.
