Help! I am trying to book a tgv train from Bayeux to Paris at a "prem" rate for 2nd class travel. However, I keep getting this error; 'On some trains, the place you requested isn't available for the fare you chose. We have reserved you a place with different criteria instead.
Attention, some of your requests for seats cannot be satisfied.' what does this mean, as it still allows me to purchase tickets. Will we have seats? should I book this? It is nonrefundable nonexchangeable!
you will have seats, what it means is that the type of seats you're requesting aren't available. So the seats might not be together, or they might not be at a table or whatever else you may have requested.
When I get the message you quote, the page proceeds to quote "different criteria", which means a different route or timetable. Since it offers tickets, then yes you will have the tickets when you buy them. But they will be as outlined, not as you originally specified. Click on the details button to see the eligibility and restrictions.
A post elsewhere has suggested that the Paris-Caen route is undergoing some work this summer which may or may not explain why the itinerary is more complicated than normal.
