What is the average temp for the month of April and May in Germany?
It's in the back of Rick's guide book for Germany. He also has the number of days of (or without) rain.
Yahoo weather is a great place to check on this sort of thing.
click here, input your location and time span, it will give you the temps in the last 10 or 15 years for those dates
You can find RIck's average temps, but really April and May are so changeable in terms of weather, I just lived through 7th spring about an hour southwest of Frankfurt. It can be high 70s-low80s, or it can be as James wrote, 52. And rainy. Best advice for clothes is to pack layers, and in April, depending where you go, you might even use those silk undies.
I agree, an average just doesn't tell you much about how you need to pack for a trip to Germany, especially in April/May. I remember a very nice mother's day beginning of May a few years back that we spent at an outdoor pool enjoying 30 C. And I remember many 1st of May outings I was freezing in the rain ...
Hope for nice spring or even summer like weather - and don't forget a sweater and your rain jacket.
I don't know about "average" temps but we just returned from southwest Germany. It was cloudy and chilly the first couple of days, then warmed up enough to just need a light jacket. Then it was pretty warm for a couple of days...short sleeves. Then it rained heavily. My suggestion? Layers! Be sure to pack an umbrella and some kind of raincoat. Old Navy sells one that folds up into a little pouch.
I also usually check The Weather Channel online before I go. You can get a 10 day forecast, at least you'll have an idea of what your first week will look like.
