We would like to visit the castles in Hohenschwangau . We would also like to visit the Tegelbergbahn while we are there. What is the best way to get to the Tegelbergbahn?
The Tegelbergbahn is just a few miles to the left of Neuschwanstein as you face it from below. I think there is even a trail down from Neuschwanstein to the base of the Bergbahn.
Hi Megan, Tegelberg is only a mile or two from the castles. Tim pointed out all the ways to get there. Both the cable car and the luge ride (Sommerrodelbahn) are worthwhile. The luge ride is simply a lot of fun. Paul
You can drive, walk or take a bicycle ride to get there.
There are periodic buses, about every hour, that come out from Füssen, stop at the Hohenschwangau (castle) bus stop, then go another 7 minutes (usually) to Tegelbergbahn. Look up the schedules on the German Rail website. Use Fuessen Bahnhof and Tegelbergbahn.
