I am travelling to Paris in Sept and I have booked a taxi to take me to my hotel. As I arrive early in the morning after a long flight, I dont want to muck around trying to navigate the RER, Metro, or sit for 60 to 90 mins on a shuttle. Can someone please give me an idea as to how long it takes to get from CDG to Rue Cler at about 0730 in the morning? Many thanks for any help I get :o)
What day of the week? And if you think 90 minutes for a shuttle, it's going to be about the same for a taxi.
Thanks for your reply, but surely if the Taxi is going directly to the hotel and not stopping to drop other travellers off at their hotels, this trip should be quicker.
Sorry forgot to post that the plane arrives at 640am on a Tuesday morning....I figure we will be leaving the airport about 730/745am by the time we have done all the necessaries ie: baggage and customs.
A taxi will take at least an hour that time of day at mid-week.
You will hit the best of the morning traffic and the meter will keep ticking as the taxi sits bumper-to-bumper. No need to order a taxi in advance as hundreds are always in the line up waiting to pick up a passenger.
Thank you all for your help. We had originally booked a Yellow Shuttle Bus, but according to their booking slip, the trip was going to take 60 to 90 mins, presumably the delays are due to dropping off other passengers at their hotels.I thought that was a bit long for what I have now found out on Google, is a 30 min drive. So I cancelled the shuttle and booked an Airport Transfer Taxi with a set fee, thinking it might be quicker. But apparently as I have now found out from one of the posts..... we are going to hit peak hour.... so I guess we will just have to sit back and enjoy the ride. :o)
try victorcabs.com. I have used him/them several times, arriving at 5 am or so. You are the only passenger, and extremely reliable. Will meet you, carry your luggage, and drop you off promptly. Have a great trip.
Don't let google maps lead you astray. It's never a 30-minute drive. . . .maybe at 3 in the morning in the middle of February or something. 60 minutes is average, and 90 is not so infrequent as one would wish.
