Can anyone tell me if there are taxi stands at the train station and any tips to get to the hotel by taxi?

Write FULL name and address, including the 5 digit postal code.. there are many hotels in Paris with similar names.

What Pat said. I printed out and brought the -how to get here- from the hotel and their address and name. He plugged it into his gps and away we went. We were staying at an ETAP and there are probably 15 in Paris. Address is critical.

At Gare du Nord you will see a line on the floor that says "Taxi" follow it out the building to the taxi queue.
