My husband and I are taking our two children, ages 15 and 12 to Spain for Spring Break. We are looking forward to the tapas bars, but wonder if these strolls would be appropriate for the entire family. We'll be in Madrid, Seville, possibly Toledo and later down to Nerja. Also, does anyone know anything about sailing in Spain. We sail on Lake Michigan and would love to see what's available for daysailing. Thanks.
Spain is having a drought, and it doesn't seem like you are going anywhere near a large body of water. Yes your kids would probably like a tapas bar, try the one recommended in Rick's book, the one with the bulls heads. One important thing to prepare your kids with is the Spanish schedule, arise late, and stay up late, meals late. I loved Seville but you my go to Granada instead, you have the Alhambra there, which is fabulous. Also take you kids to the "House of Legs" in Madrid, which is a flamenco school and lots of fun.
Hi DJ, i have been involved with property in Spain for about 7 years and one of my favourite places is very close to Nerja and also very easy to find - i think you & your family will enjoy a visit to FRIGILIANA very much.
It is very easy to find - having exited the main Mediterranean road, instead of taking the direction to the coast (which is only 5 mins) you take the opposite direction inland into the mountains, you will be in Frigiliana in about 15 mins.
The views down to the coast are stunning and the place has retained all of its old Spain
feel and architecture.

Hope you enjoy it as much as i still do.

Frigiliana sounds wonderful. Thanks for the tip. Any recommendations for specific places you've stayed? We're still hoping daysailing works out somewhere near Nerja. Regards and thanks again.
