Tank top/sleeveless shirt for men

Stupid question but are tank tops/sleeveless shirts worn much by men in Europe? Thanks, Lisa

Or at work in the foundry or in the gym. PS - there are no stupid questions.

American tourists look like American tourists, but I must say that I've never seen an American man in a tank top there. What is hilarious, though, are some of the shots of European tourists in some of Rick's shows. For example, check out his Salzburg video...plenty of tank tops/sleeveless tees on men, and one guy is the spitting image of Cousin Eddy from Christmas Vacation (as Rick is walking into a shop). He even dances a little jig. Then, have a look at some of the videos for Eastern Europe. Those mullets, red acid washed jeans, and sleeveless tees aren't on Americans. That should help all American tourists feel a bit more comfortable about wearing whatever they normally wear when on vacation, because there's no way you'll look as bad as some European tourists. BTW, even in summer, older folks (retired age) in Italy and Spain dress quite nice every day of the week. People of that age don't wear shorts, tees, or even jeans. Happy travels.

But the same standards apply to both men and women in many churchas - covered shoulders and covered knees. We once were on a walking tour. One couple, in the group, worn a very low cut tank top and he was what look like the sleeves less, strap style of a man's knit undershirt. At every church we visit on the walking tour, the tour guide make them wait outside.

Sleeveless t-shirts are just not appropriate for men in places other than a work site, a field where a sport is being practiced, a demanding trekking/canyoning, or a gym. As a self-confident heterosexual male myself, I think those outfits worn out of the aforementioned circumstances look between creepy and outright gross depending on the male and the place involved.

They may be worn by some, but they are not appropriate for tourist travel.
