Take away food in Paris G Nord or G Est

Next Tuesday I have a reasonably short time to get from Gare du Nord to Gare de l'Est to connect from my Eurostar to a TGV to Mulhouse. I'll be moving fairly smartly and need to scoop up some take away (to go) food to take on the TGV. I'm generally aware of the Nord concourse although I've never looked for food there. I'm less knowledgeable of Est because I've only been there a few times and again never looked for food. Any suggestions?

Hi Nigel,
I stayed at a hotel by Gare de l'Est a couple of years ago for one night and last year passed through there to get to Reims. What I recall is that the station is basically connected to kind of a small shopping mall. On the lower level, there was definitely a place to get sandwiches and drinks (it might have been Paul's) as I bought something there before I hopped on the train.

Hi, I know both stations well. If you're in a hurry to get from Nord to Gare de l'Est, unless you're absolutely starving, I suggest waiting until you reach Est. At Nord on the ground floor is a brasserie and for take way too. On the ground floor on the side of the Waiting Room are several sandwich and coffee outlets, set up for eating there (standing up ) or take away on the trains, probably close to platforms 7-9. The newspaper/magazine outlets sell mineral water and drinks. If you have more time, downstairs at Est is where a larger bakery is located. Gare de l'Est has been expanded, refurbished, remodeled.
