T-Mobil My Touch Cell Phone

Does anyone know if this phone is unlocked? I see in one of these answers that the Blackberry is unlocked. Thanks!

Generally, no phones given to you by U.S. wireless providers are unlocked [INVALID] you have to unlock them yourself. You can probably google "how to unlock T-Mobile MyTouch" and find a tutorial. Keep in mind, however, that messing with the phone is likely to nullify any warranties you have with the phone's manufacturer or T-Mobile. If you don't want to mess with your own phone, look into buying a cheap unlocked phone on eBay or Craigslist and then getting a sim card once you land in Europe.

I've read elsewhere that T-Mobile will provide unlock instructions, so I would check with the company. Blackberry's are not automatically unlocked.

You can buy an unlocked Motorola Razr quad-band phone at Big Lots for %25. They are sold under the H2O Wireless service. This reseller specifies that only unlocked GSM phones can be used on their network. Mine's sitting in the travel gear box waiting for my trip in May!

If you call T-Mobile, they will provide you with the unlock code and instructions. I did this with mine and had no trouble.

Lee what area in Big Lots do you find them in? I was in there today looking for them and couldn't find any cell phones.

I did what Sam did[INVALID]called T Mobile to get it unlocked[INVALID]and I had no trouble. I know with some other carriers you can't do this, but with T Mobile, you can.

Jodee, At my local Big Lots, these phones were in an employee-accessible glass case that also contained memory cards, thumb drives, etc. I've read that sometimes you must request the phone and they retrieve it from some secure location in the store. Sorry for the thread jack.
