I see the 10 day forcast from Chamonix to Zurich is nothing but RAIN. Is this common weather for that part of the world in June?

Yes it is common for the summer season. But keep in mind that whenever you are in a mountaious region, the weather is always in a constant state of flux. It may be raining a one village, but just a few miles away the sun will be out. The high peaks do strange things with the clouds. So it's nothing to be overly concerned about.
