We want to start our trip this summer (2013) in Interlaken, Switzerland. What is the climate like in this area in July? Thank you.
Kelli, the weather around Interlaken in July is very much like it is here in the Puget Sound region. It can be warm and sunny (70 degrees or so) or it can be pouring rain, or just a light drizzle. The weather is a little more unsettled at the beginning of July than toward the end. In the mountains above Interlaken, where we stay, we have experienced about 60-40 ( sun versus rain) in our several trips there. Some of the sunny days were downright hot and humid. Bring you rain jacket and layers and you'll be ready for all of it.
Hi Kelli, The weather can be variable. But, from my memory, bad weather (a thunderstorm or rain) would clear out more quickly than in Seattle. I remember there being thunderstorms at night, but in the morning, the weather was beautiful. Go prepared, as you would in the Northwest. But, the temperatures will be warmer. Depends on whether you are going into the mountains or staying in the valley. Enjoy your trip. Switzerland is breathtaking! Becky
