Switzerland Trip Planning

We are going to Switzerland from 23rd Aug to 1st Sept. We will arrive and depart from Zurich. My current itinerary is 2-days in Lucern, 1-day Bern, 2-days Berner oberland and Interlaken area, 2-days Montreux region, 1-day Zermatt, on 31st take Glacier Express from zermatt to Chur and return to Zurich. Is this a good itinerary or should we modify it?

I agree w/ Steve add more days in Lauterbrunnewn valley& skip interlaken. Skip Montreux while nice it is on far west side add your xtra time in Berner oberland area. it is the mountains that are the big draw for switzerland.

I agree with the idea of more days in the Berner Oberland. We spent a week there and could have stayed longer. You can spend a day or longer in Luzern on your way back to Zurich. Bern is easily reached for a day trip. There is so much to see and do in the B.O. area. We stayed there for a week two years ago and loved it. We also were there at the end of August and the weather was lovely. Look at Lauterbrunnen, Murren or Weggis as potential home bases and branch out from there.
You might want to consider deleting some of the places you listed so you can slow down and enjoy....

On the other hand, if you would like to visit a mix of cities and small villages, lake and mountain scenery, sample both the German-speaking and French-speaking areas, and take a classic scenic train ride, your itinerary does exactly that.

We are hikers, and a week in the Berner Oberland is heaven, but it's not for everyone.

I second the suggestion to stay in Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, or Wengen (not Weggis---that's on Lake Luzern) instead of Interlaken, as mentioned above.
