Hi,
My husband and I are going to Switzerland in May and have 4 days to stay there.
Can someone please recommend me the best places to visit there? Also I would love to experience scenic trains there.
What are the good places to stay?
When specifically in May, because there's a huge difference in what's open at the begining versus later on in the month?
How are you intending to enter Switzerland and where are you going after Switzerland? There are several very scenic trains. The Golden Pass, the Bernina Express, the Glacier Express and the William Tell Express. All of these trains are discussed in Rick's book on Switzerland. The reason for asking is that if I knew where you were coming from and where you were going, it could make sense to ride one or more of these trains to get there instead of the regular trains.
I will be in switzerland from may 20th till may 26th
I am travelling to Switzerland from Venice. this is my first trip to Europe so I am hoping to get advice to make it memorable :-)
If I stay in 1 place the would I be able to take these scenic trains? Or should I stay in Interlaken & lucern?
Also, do you buy train tickets when you go there? I am going to have eurail pass, would that help anyway while I travel within swiss?

Do you have Rick Steves Switzerland book? If so, there is thorough information on the routes for all the scenic trains. Also, try Googling the name of each train like "Bernina Express." You'll get a lot of hits, including some U tube videos and maps. You can use these trains to get from p2p. I think it would be difficult to take them as day trips and retun to the beginning location all in one day.
