Switzerland Gondola help!!!!

Im confused with how you get charged with the gondolas in the Lauterbrunnen area- is it every time you go up on? We want to go betwween each village and up to Schilthorn and the such... we dont need train tickets so I wasnt going to buy a swiss pass- any ideas?

What Lola said, ... and, yes, you have to pay every time you ride. You can buy a ticket for your whole journey, though, if you keep going in the one direction. You can, for instance, buy a ticket in Interlaken Ost all the way to Schilthorn.

What Lola said. Plus, no Swiss pass or card will cover you fully from Muerren up to the top of the Shilthorn. You will have to purchase that fare. If you intend to go up to the Jungfraujoch as well, then look into the Swiss half-fare card. Half-fare for everything including the Schilthorn and Jungfrau. Also, The savings on those two runs to the mountain tops will pay for the card. Plus, you can use the card to exit Switzerland on the train. I think the cost of the card is around 110CHF now. They've gone up since we purchased them.
