Switzerland Golden Pass trip help

I'm not sure how much I can help, because we haven't been there yet. . . but I looked at several towns in the area for a short stay in July (for the Swiss Open tennis tournament). Looked at Chateau d'Oex, Rougement, Schonried, and Gstaad. It all looked lovely. We actually ended up choosing Gstaad so we can walk to the tennis. It isn't necessarily expensive, and the pedestrian zone is supposed to be very nice. I think it's a quieter, more low-key place in the summer than winter. But the others looked great too, especially Chateau d'Oex and the Hotel Bon Accueil: http://www.swiss-riviera.com/lebonaccueil/ This is just over the line between the French- and German-speaking areas of Switzerland. Nice walks abound i the whole area.

Kathy - you cant go wrong in any of those areas. On the hill top area of Chateau'd'Oex = you are in wine country (or will be down the geneva side). Grueyer has a great castle and nice town too. Gstaad is world famous and has the famous old town with fancy shops (Rodeo Drive style) if you like that. Pick one that meets your needs as far as close to train station and plenty of B&B Hotels! You can even take a plane-trip sight-seeing tour from the small air stip there - its amazing! So have fun!
