Switzerland extra day: Bernese Oberland or Luzern?

I'll be staying in Murren for two nights later this month. I just found out that I now have an extra day before I head home. Should I stay an extra night in Murren (3 nights total), head to another Bernese Oberland town for a night (maybe Wengen), or visit Luzern for a day? If I went to Luzern, would I come home and wish I would have stayed the extra day in the Oberland? Vice Versa? I do like to ski, hike, etc, however I don't want to miss the sites in other towns. Tough decision...however I'm sure I'll be happy with either choice! Any advice appreciated!

Spend the extra day in Murren. The high mountain peaks of the Alps makes the weather very unpredictable. So you may need that extra day in case of poor weather.

If you want to see more of the area, it's an easy journey over to Wengen. You also have the opportunity to jump up to the top of the Shilthorn for breakfast. Weather permitting, it's a great view. Since you are a skier and going the end of this month, you can ski from either Muerren or Wengen down to Lauterbrunnen. I don't think that there will be much hiking if the snow is good.

Hi,
For just 3 nights I'd stay in the B.O. My opinion, stay in Murren but do get over to see Wengen during your stay. Luzern is nice, but the Berner Oberland is like nothing else! We stayed 4 nights in Wengen and did not want to leave.

Hi Steve. I recommend stay at Murren three nights. Rick Steves recommends staying at that area three nights, to have one day at one side of the valley (Murren) and one day at the other side of the valley (Wengen).

Definitely stay in Murren for the 3 nights and do as the other suggested. Use it as you home base to see this gorgeous area. Do go up to the Shilthorn for breakfast.
Lot's of hiking and great skiing.
You don't really want to waste time packing your bags and moving for just one night.
