Hi - I have travelled a lot of places but never Switzerland. Mainly this is because I don't ski and I know the place is super expensive. But I plan to go there in a few months. I have a few questions since I know little about what to see in Switzerland: 1) What is a good month to go? I don't ski, but I do like great views. 2) What is a good place for a base? I have heard that the Jungfrau region, St. Moritz, Geneva, Interlaken, Lucerne are all great. But where should I stay? I plan to go for 4 nights but am flexible. Thanks in advance
Faisal, It would help to have some additional information. Are you only going to Switzerland, or will the visit there be part of a longer trip? The Berner Oberland region is a big favourite with most here, so that's one area I would recommend. Which places to visit will depend on whether you want more "country with alpine views and hiking" or more "city with Museums and other attractions". If you'd prefer more city-type activities, then Lucerne is a good choice. Cheers!
Do you have a copy of the RS guide book that includes Switzerland yet? If so, great. If not, you need to get one as it will answer most of your planning needs. We found it very helpful when we went thru there last year.
