Hello, planning the last leg of our trip from Berlin to Switzerland then to Paris. So looking for an 4 day itinerary from east to west. Hoping to do 2 nights in one place and maybe 2 in another. Never have been and not trying to see everything, perhaps Interlaken, Jungfraujoch, Montreaux. Looking for 2 decent places to base in for potential day trips. Any ideas or suggested itineraries? Thanks
Here is my 2 cents worth, 2 days in Luzern and 2 in Murren, last day travel by golden pass towards Geneva/France. Skip Jungfrau, to me a little over-rated and pricy. While in Luzern, take Lake Ferry via Golden ticket to Mt. Pilatus and back, substitute Schilthorn while in Murren for Jungfrau excursion. If there is any possibility while in France, slip on south go thru Annecy and then Chaminoix and do Mount Blanc ( substitute for Jungfrau) !Switzerland is so dynamic, I'm surprised you haven't received many more responses.
Since Berlin is a long way from Switzerland I would consider flying. ck discount airlines out of Berlin to see your options. Otherwise you will be spending along time in transit and little base time. www.whichbudget.com
will help you explore this option.
From Berlin to Basel/Zurich Switzerland there is a direct City Nightline train every evening at 10:15pm arrives Basel at 7:54 am. The deluxe private sleepers are very comfortable, you get your own bathroom with toilet/shower, table/chairs, cabinets to store your gear, and the beds are configured so you can watch the scenery out the while in bed. http://citynightline.ch
