We are not sure if it would be worth our time to stay at Berner Oberland the 1st two days in May. We are concerned about being in-between ski season and hiking weather. We have 2 days for Switzerland between Lake Como and Paris. Where would be the best place to be at that time of the year?
Thank you so much that helps tremendously!
I am sorry but I have to disagree.
Where did you hike in the Berner Oberland at the end of April that it was snow (and mud) free and full of blooming wildflowers?
They are skiing there through Easter, and then things pretty much shut down until summer. Most of the lifts do not re-open until late May.
We found the wildflowers at their peak (at Mannlichen, same elevation as Kleine Scheidegg) the last week of June.
I appreciate all the information. It helps me to make a more educated guess.
