Swiss/Italy train travel

I'm trying to find an overnight train trip from Rome, Italy to Brienz Switzerland. I'd like to use a Eurail pass and pay extra to reserve a couchette to Domodossola and then switch to a Swiss Card train pass all the way to Brienz. Is this possible in one night? Do Swiss trains run frequently between the hours of 12am and 6am?

According to the German rail site (http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en) a direct Euronight train from Rome at 19:56(58) towards Brienz doesn't stop at Domodossola. You can stop at Visp or Spiez then travel on getting to Brienz at 7:22 or 8:56. You can take an IC night train at 22:36 from Rome getting to Bologna at 3:13 then get another night train at 4:12 getting to Milan Central at
7:05 then leave Milan to Domodossola.
, etc.

Ashley, you won't find a night train that goes all the way. There are a couple of night trains that will do it. The best one departs Rome at 19:58 and arrives in Brienz at 6:50. You are on a night train from Rome to Spiez. (For accuracy, it does not stop at either Dommodosola or Visp). This train arrives at 5:22 which gets you some sleep. You change trains at Spiez and Interlaken Ost for the remainder of the trip into Brienz. These last two trains are not night trains.

Hi Ashley,

This may be possible, that the train run frequently in hours 12am to 6 am.

Thanks a lot William, Larry and Anil. That was very helpful and I especially appreciated the url link and the specifics on the times so I could find them. Thanks again.
