We are staying in interlaken for 4 days and are going to the towns of lauterbruem, gimmlewad, and jungafau (my spelling is awful. Would it be better and cheaper to do a half pass or just pay for the tickets each time.
Depending on where going before or after, A Berneroberland pass may work. The right way is to add up all your P2P prices from SBB, then see if a half fare card saves you money.
Would I buy that pass from sbb or would I buy it there?
Jason, purchase your half-fare card in your first Swiss train station. Are you arriving by plane or by some other means, and which city? Did you mean Jungfrau, top of Europe, a destination site rather then a village per se?
The half price cards also can be used on the lake boats....if you are planning on doing any day excursions on the lakes there that might be a bonus. I have used the half price card on several trips but also have just done the point to point. You do have to figure out your trips and compare them to the cost of the half price card. I believe it is still a 30 day card, and offers significant savings on the train up to Jungfrau....but do compare the point to point fares first.
