Swiss Half Fare Card for Murren? Choose Schilthorn or Jungfrau?

I was wondering if it was worth purchasing the Swiss Half Fare Card for the cost of getting to Murren and back, and possibly an extra Gondola or train trip while there? We are debating about taking the train ride to the top of the Jungfrau or the gondola to Schilthorn? Recommendations on either would be much appreciated.

In regards to Jungfrau v Schiltorn: Both are first class attractions, if you have the time and money see both. Schiltorn is mostly a mountain top panorama experience...Jungfrau is mostly a glacier experience. If I had to choose one, it would be Jungfrau. It's more expensive, takes more time, but IMO you get more bang for your buck. In addition to the commanding views of the glacier valley from the observation deck, you can take the elevator down and walk on the glacier a bit, and then go down even further and enjoy the ice gallery inside the glacier. Hard to put into words but at the top of Jungfrau one gets more of a Mt. Everest "experience"...that you're truly at the top of the world; almost:)

It is hard to choose if you only have time for one, because both are fantastic. Some of it depends on the weather. If the weather is perfectly clear, Schiltorn is amazing. The cable car ride up is impressive. If you have the time, and iron knees, you can hike part of the way down. I have seen people get off at Birg to hike. There is more to do at the top of Jungfrau. In addition to looking at the views, you can also go snow sledding most of the year. If the weather is "average" meaning some clouds you can still have a good experience at Jungfrau. If it is cloudy, don't go to Schilthorn.

If you are in Murren and don't have the time to go all the way up to Schilthorn, take the Almenhubel funicular. It is not nearly as high up as Schilthorn, but the views are still amazing and it is very inexpensive.
