I was looking over my credit cards receipts form last June in Switzerland. The currency rate was about .81. Now its close to .97+ Which means those same hotels would be about 20% HIGHER in price. My point? Many people are not going to get to see the beauty and marvel of Switzerland that we saw last summer because of the depreciation of the American dollar. What a shame.

Well its about 1-1 now after this AM. But like all of europe - its not so much their cost that changes - just the dollar value. Most hotels dont pay in advance - but many tours do. So pre-paid tours may be a good deal if its a good reputable co. People should just plan on taking it easy on the souvineers this year and do a few extra picnics - but still go on their trips! with global changes - we should all go to the alps sooner than later just incase! cheaper now than next year if the dollar drops for another year until all the econ turns around.
