Sunday's in Germany

We will be in Germany for two weeks in October and will be in St. Goar and Mittenwald on the two Sunday's of our trip.
Will our activities be limited because it is Sunday? I have read that stores are not open on Sunday, but am wondering about other things being closed.
Thanks for the input.

I was in Garmisch and Partinkirchen on a sunday in June and it was busy for hikers and restaurants were open. If you are there to shop the only things I saw that were open was a few souvenier places. The hiking was amazing though and well worth the trip out there.

Just stores are closed on Sundays. Restaurants, museums, art galleries, and other tourist attractions are open. This goes for all of Germany. Bakeries are allowed to open on Sunday mornings and sometimes in the afternoon for a while too. Souvenir stores located around heavily visited tourist sites will also be open. Most museums close on Mondays.

Most larger cities will have Sunday shopping 4 times a year, usually in conjunction with something special, like a festival, large trade fair, or holiday.

Thanks so much for the input. It is just what I needed. Shopping was not my concern - really just museums, castles, restaurants, etc.

If you travel a bit further down the Rhine to Ruedesheim you might have more success with finding stores that are open on Sunday. Ruedesheim is very 'touristy' and I remember that almost everything was open on Sunday (not sure what time of the year it was, if that has anything to do with it).
