Hi, It's that time of the year again that I am deciding where to go this summer. We have been to other parts of Europe before but have never been to Barcelona. We would like to do 2 to 3 cities/countries in 2 weeks. I am deciding either Barcelona/ Cinque Terre or Amalfi Coast OR Barcelona/Austria. I would assume that both itineraries would entail flying as they far from each other. We have been to Paris twice so would skip it this time. Any suggestions? Thanks
My only input would be to say Barcelona is a very modern, young city. We stayed there for 2 days awaiting a cruise. Very beautiful place indeed. Austria is even more beautiful. I rode through the central and eastern half on a motorcycle and got to witness first-hand the fantastic mountain passes that Austria is known for. Barcelona is more big-city like. Austria on the other hand is more "outdoors-like."
I suggest the South of France which is easy to get to by train from Barcelona. Languedoc-Roussillon is beautiful, varied and historic, as is Provence.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am planning on Praque/Austria and Germany for next year. I am sure Austria is very beautiful.
I still remenber the scene from 'Sound of Music'. There is just something with Barcelona that I would like to make it as part of our itinerary this year.
