Summer '10-3 days Munich and 3 days Paris

I will be spending 3 days in Munich, May 28-30, and 3 in Paris, May 31-June 2. I've never been to either city, can you help me out with eats and attractions. Also, I will be arriving from Venice, so what the best way.

All the best,

John

John, Paris and Munich are large cities. If you already have a hotel room location, it would be easier to recommend places to eat. With only three days in each city, you can really only hit the high points, so it would help to know what your interests are. Perhaps you can buy (or check out of your library) Rick Steve's guide book for Paris 2010 and get a guide for Munich/Bavaria, as well. Both cities have famous museums, churches and cathedrals, castles and parks, open air markets with great food and fresh flowers and interesting cityscapes and plenty of opportunities to sit in sidewalk cafes and people watch. Plus, you'll be there at a great time of the year. Best, Anna

We just spent 5 days in Munich and 2 1/2 in Paris in October.

For Paris, we did the Fat Bike tour which was a total blast. They offer them during the day or at night (when the city is all lit up). It was very fun and they take you all over the city visiting the highlights.

In Munich, the Haufbraus House is a must see. The food is good, but the ambiance, entertainment and people watching can't be beat. We found germans to be extremely friendly and if you go just sit at a table with others and join in.

We also spent a day at Neuschwanstein which is about a 2 hour train ride from Munich. The scenery alone is worth this trip.

I can't speak for Paris since I have not been there yet. However, my wife and two adult sons were in Munich in eary October for Octoberfest. There are huge beer gardens to visit and any travel book can direct you to those attractions. My wife and I did the Mike's Bike trip that was entertaining and informative. The guides are young energenic guys looking to make your tour a memorable experience.
Enjoy your visit....
