My husband 14 year old nephew and myself are traveling to Spain this April and we are looking for suites hotels in both cities and or ajoining rooms. I think that my nephew is old enough to be in his own room now Thanks

In Madrid, there is the Suites Prado Hotel: http://www.suiteprado.com/index_en.htm they show rates for a triple; I assume that means using the living room sofa as a pull-out bed but you should check.

I can recommend the Citadines Ramblas in Barcelona. It's part of an international chain (book at www.citadines.com) - fantastic location right on the Ramblas (but not many rooms look out directly onto it, so you shouldn't have noise problems), and when I was there the woman working in the laundry room took all my stuff out of the machine and folded it nicely without my asking. They offer suites for three or four people, usually with one bedroom with a double bed and a (comfortable) fold-out sofabed in the main room.
