Has anyone gone from Alicante to Barcelona? What do you recommend as how to get there? It's a 5 hour train ride - worth it? or should we just fly.
Also any suggestions for a place to stay in Alicante near the town center?

Our bench mark is six hours. If a train ride is six hours or less, it will be faster than flying. And sometimes will consider seven hours. Just to much hassle with flying especially if using a discount airline.
