seasoned traveling senior needs single room for May 19, as economical as possible, but will take almost anything at this point. Would prefer west area near Anne Frank house. Any church guest houses?

Carolyn, I'm not sure if this fits your criteria for "as economical as possible", but you might have a look at This Hotel. I can't recall how far it is from Anne Frank House, but it's VERY CLOSE to both the RijksMuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and there's a convenient Tram stop within about a one minute walk. It was under renovation when I was there last fall, but that's probably completed now. The staff were great and there's a nice Bar right beside the front desk. Happy travels!
