Hello. My parents will be arriving at the Amsterdam Cruise Ship Terminal and are interested in taking a guided day tour of the city. They are in their 70's and are not looking to do a lot of walking as my father has recently undergone knee replacement surgery, some walking in ok though. Any suggestions on tours, operators, itineraries, etc. is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Cathy, right in front of Amsterdam Centraal station there are numerous canal boats one can take on tours. They have a few different routes they take. I would recommend that for your parents. I don't know where the Cruise Ship Terminal is but I am sure there is provided transport from there to Amsterdam they can take.
I recommend to do a private tour with a local guide. He knows Amsterdam and then can design a tour based on the needs of you parents. There are several sites that helps you to get in contact with local private tour guides such as www.LocalGuiding.com and others.
