I am looking for reasonably priced hotels and suggestions as to the best areas to stay in each city.There will be my daughter and me and we will be staying only 1 or 2 nights in each place.

In Seville we always stay in the Santa Cruz area -hotels you could try are Hotel Amadeus, Hotel Alcantara and Hotel Murillo.
In Granada we have only ever stayed in an apartment but was in the old area of Albayzin which is lovely.
One or two nights is not long in either of these - especially Seville.

My daughter is staying at Hostal Viena in Granada right now. This was recommended on this sight. There are 3 girls in a room for 50 euros. It is clean, safe and in a fabulous area.The room is private, with 3 beds, a bathroom and a safe. She would stay here again.
