Suggestion for one nite stop on train Paris to Interlaken

Can anyone give me a suggestion on a location you would suggest for a one nite stop on the train from Paris to Interlaken? I would like to break the trip up and make a quick stop somewhere in the French countryside.

If you take the direct route through Basel, your train will stop in Strasbourg and Mulhouse. You could pick one of those without detouring or adding time to your trip.
