I have done A LOT of research and am having difficulty finding lodging in Stuttgart, Germany. Can you recommend a hotel/guest house in Stuttgart that is close to: (1) Stuttgart city center, (2) Stuttgart train system, and (3) Mercedes Museum. A price range of $80-$120 for a double room a night is our goal. Any suggestions?

You have to choose either city center OR the Mercedes Museum. The Museum is outside of the city (but just a few stops by the S-bahn from the city center). We were going to stay at the Ibis on Marienplatz, but we were able to get in at the military facility (which was only $60.00/nt) so we cancelled. It was going to be only 73 Euro/nt, but that was in September. I'm not sure when you're going. If you stayed in Bad Canstatt, you'd probably find a better deal on a hotel, and you could take the S-bahn into the city. We love Stuttgart. (But we're partial because we lived there!) Have fun!

Another way to search is go to www.hotel.de, and search for a hotel by landmark. If you put in "Mercedes Museum", it will give you a list of close matches, and you'll find the option of the Mercedes Museum, choose it, and you'll have a list of hotels that are close. Try to get to it with this link:
