Any suggestions for hotels or B&B's in Stuttgart, as well as sight seeing tips? We'd prefer to be located fairly close to the town center.

If you don't mind me recommending another forum, try Trip Advisor. I say this because there is a guy there named Marco and he lives in Stuttgart and is as passionate about this city as I am about Frankfurt. He seriously knows all the sightseeing tips for Stuttgart and the whole surrounding area too.

If you're looking for a hotel that's a good value try Hotel Astoria--it's basic and has mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but it's in a good location and very reasonably priced. Also breakfast is included and is very good.

Stuttgart is a great base to visit Strasbourg, France for a day. The Mercedes museum is also nice. You can take the city train to see the Ludwigsburg Palace which is gorgeous and I really enjoyed the tour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwigsburg_Palace
