In mid February, 6 friends and I will have 2 days in Strasbourg. We plan on seeing the main sites in the city, but does anyone have any suggestions as to what else we could do? Are any hiking trails accessible this time of year? I appreciate any information you can give. Thanks!
We were there in December for the Christmas Markets. Found the river tour very interesting and informative. There are a couple of museum that focused on local history that we found interesting. Expect it to be pretty cold.
Anna, I was going to suggest the boat tours around the city, but not sure if they'll be operating in mid-February? It's interesting to see "the other" E.U. Parliament from the water. In terms of the "main sites", I'm assuming you're planning to visit the spectacular Cathedral? Happy travels!
The river tours were running in December. The boats are enclosed and heated so I don't know why they would not be running in February.
I love Strasbourg, we live close by. A block from the cathedral is a beautiful carousel. In the same platz at the carousel are some good restaurants. Touristy, but still good. The hiking will depend on the weather. Clear but cold now, could be bad and cold or clear and warmer, who knows. Hit the chain clothing store Printemps, or the fabric stores Toto Tissus. If you drove, you could easily make it over to a wine route town for an afternoon of wine and yummy dinner.
