Storing luggage in Paris

On our last day in Paris, we want to visit Versailles for a few hours. We will check out of our hotel near the Eiffel Tower, then take the train there. We have tickets on the 7:13pm Chunnel back to London. Our concern is what to do with our luggage while we are enjoying our last day out touring. I read about the storage lockers in the some of the major train stations, but none of them are convenient. Are there any other options besides leaving our things at the hotel, then retrieving them on the way to Gare du Nord later in the day? Thanks very much!

The other option, but I think you've implied it, is to go in the morning after checkout to the Gare du Nord and leave your luggage there. That of course takes you out of your way in the morning, but makes it easier at the end of the day. . .

Hi, If you leave the luggage at Gare du Nord, it is at a left luggage facility, not coin lockers. That was abolished over twenty years ago. Aside from the pressing time factor, leaving the luggage at the hotel will be free, whereas the left luggage will charge you. I would leave it at Gare du Nord.

After missing a (non refundable, non transferrable) TGV ride because I'd left my luggage at the hotel, not the station I was departing from, and the metro broke down on my way back to retrieve it...I'll always leave my luggage in the station I'm departing from. Had I done that, I would have caught my train, even with the Metro malfunction. It's just less stress. Annoying in the morning, but you'll be glad at the end of the day.
