Will be diving on a Saturday from Avigion towards Florence Italy. Plan on leaving Avigion in morning and don't need to get into Florence until around 4pm next day.
Any ideas as to places to stop along the way and for Saturday evening?.Don't necessarly want to get involved with any big cities, just a nice interesting place to stop for the evening and to continue the next day.

I think I would opt for either San Remo or Santa Margherita Ligure. Milage wise, Genoa might be the best.
