Caught a bit of Rick on the radio recently talking of how to gain permanent residentcy. Spain was a real bear. I would just like to spend an extra ninety days. Any suggestions? Thanks, Scott
Permanent residency is different than getting a long stay visitor visa. If you can show you have sufficient resources (savings, health insurance, etc.) you can apply for one for France. You have to swear you won't look for work on a visitor visa. It helps if you have a reason (ie learn the language, study the culture) if you are still young. They tend to be skeptical of someone who is still of prime employment age who doesn't have a good reason why they want to go. But there are plenty of people who come over during a sabbatical, or for language classes or for an extended stay with a significant other they may have met while on vacation or in the US.
