I liked:
Hotel de Nevers Paris 11e
53 Rue de Malte
Paris 75011, France
Also agree with the Hotel de Nevers. 62 E for a double with toilet. Very clean, very friendly. They have good reviews from Tripadvisor and we enjoyed it.
Check out the Paris Tourist Info website. I booked through there for a trip in the summer, and I actually got a room for two that was cheaper than two hostel beds! I stayed at the Kyriad Brancion, which is unfortunately a fifteen-minute walk from any metro station, but it was comfortable and the price was absolutely right. I got the room for something like 1/3 of their posted price. They may not always have great deals like that, but you might as well take a look.
Steven: Thank you for your tip on Paris Info. I was able to find and book a much less expensive hotel than the one I had already reserved for 4 nights in May. With our Cdn. dollar sinking against the euro, this is a real coup !
My pleasure, Norma. It appears as though that site is an excellent resource, so long as you are not too picky about which hotel you stay in.
